The next-generation SharkBite fitting has a new stainless-steel retainer for added strength and double the burst pressure of the original fitting. These re-engineered fittings are also easier and faster to use, requiring half the insertion force of SharkBite (1st Generation). Plus, no PEX stiffener is required per ASSE 1061.
