Enbridge Sustain and CIB offer new loans for building retrofits in Ontario
The Canadian Infrastructure Bank (CIB) and Enbridge Sustain are partnering to offer up to $300 million in loans for deep energy retrofits of large buildings in Ontario.
CIB is offering $200 million in loans while Enbridge will contribute up to $100 million to the program, which will allow hospitals, universities, multi-residential buildings and other large buildings to pursue energy transition goals that result in at least a 30-per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
The retrofit projects will be developed and completed through a partnership between Enbridge Sustain and Blackstone Energy Services, which will offer decarbonization solutions such as converting heating and cooling systems to geothermal, solar generation, heat recovery, smart building controls, and replacing HVAC equipment with new high-efficiency technology.
Enbridge Sustain is a division of Enbridge Gas providing energy as a service solutions to building and home owners. Blackstone Energy Services is an energy transition company that helps large energy users in the built environment become more sustainable.
