Goodman is recalling certain models of coil drain pans due to fire hazard.
The recall includes evaporator coil drain pans paired with residential condensing gas furnaces installed in a vertical or “up-flow” configuration, installed or repaired between January 2019 and November 2021, with serial numbers 1901 through 2101.
The evaporator coil is cased or uncased, with the serial number listed on the attached label. Affected products can also be identified through Goodman’s model verification tool.
According to the company, under abnormal conditions, drain pans with affected evaporator coils may overheat, melt and deform, causing a fire hazard. There have been 23 fires connected to the product reported in the U.S., and no incidents in Canada.
