Build a Dream fundraiser focuses on International Day of the Girl

On October 7, Build a Dream will hold it’s annual fundraiser in honour of International Day of the Girl.

This year’s virtual event, titled Dreamer Day: Pivotol Moments, will include a range of female leaders talking about the moments that changed their lives and the work they do today. Speakers include Niru Somayajula, president and CEO of Sensor Technology Ltd., a global leader in piezoelectric high tech ceramic material (piezoelectricity) acoustic tools and systems, and sprint canoer and Olympian Laurence Vincent-Lapointe.

The event is for individuals of all ages, and hopes to inspire young adults reach personal and work goals; offer real-world advice on breaking down barriers in personal and professional lives; and offer leaders insight on what attracts underserved talent to an organization or cause.

“Real change in making equitable work and community spaces come from advocates and allies who are challenging the status quo,” says Nour Hachem-Fawaz, president and founder of Build a Dream. “The experiences and pivotal moments being shared are so varied but will provoke thought and inspire positive change.”
