Elkay celebrates one millionth bottle filling station

Elkay employees celebrate the one millionth ezH2O coming off the Elkay production line.

Elkay Plumbing, a manufacturer of drinking water products, is celebrating the production of its one millionth ezH2O rapid water bottle filling station. School boards across Canada have selected and installed the bottle filling stations, representing over 3,000 individual facilities.

The Downers Grove, IL-based company launched the bottle filler in 2010 with the goal of reducing plastic waste. The ezH2O feature hands-free operation, NSF certified filters and a LED filter status light. They also include a Green Ticker to show the number of 20-oz. plastic water bottles that have been saved by refills at the station.

The one millionth ezH2O unit will be installed in Chicago’s Garfield Park. The installation also celebrates Elkay’s partnership with the city and non-profit organization Elevate to install 100 units in locations such as parks, schools and youth centres across Chicago.
