Celebrate cool careers on June 26, World Refrigeration Day

June 26 is World Refrigeration Day, an annual celebration of the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat-pump sector designed to raise awareness of the importance of refrigeration in society.

The theme of this year’s World Refrigeration Day is “Cooling Champions: Cool Careers for a Better World,” and includes virtual events from around the world that highlight industry employment opportunities for youth.

The day was established in 2019, and is coordinated by the UK-based World Refrigeration Day Secretariat, a not-for-profit company. The inaugural celebration included 800 physical events in more than 150 countries.

June 26 is the birthdate of physicist William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin, the inventor of the thermodynamic temperature scale.
