NKBA announces 2021 Design Award winners

Award winning outdoor kitchen design by Reisa Pollard, Beyond Beige

The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) presented its 2021 Design + Industry Award winners. The annual competition recognizes excellence in design and execution in kitchen and bath design, building and remodelling, outdoor living and living in place industries.

Canadian award winners include:

Madeleine Sloback, principal with Madeleine Design Group in Vancouver, BC, won first place in the contemporary kitchen, large category.

Nahal Gamini, interior designer with Vancouver Development won second place in the contemporary kitchen small category, while third place went to Mina Zeighami, founder and principal designer, Azure Design Studio in Vaughan, ON. Gamini was also awarded the builder-remodeler Clay Lyon Award.

Reisa Pollard, founder and lead designer at Vancouver’s Beyond Beige, was a four category winner including: a first place finish in the outdoor kitchen category, and third place finishes in the traditional bath, large; traditional bath small; and traditional kitchen, small categories.

Mark Cayen, design consultant, Empire Kitchen & Bath in Calgary, AB won third place in the traditional kitchen, large category.

Trail Appliances in Surrey BC, won the best multi-location, multi-brand showroom – large award.

Lowe’s was the winner of the 2021 NKBA Chairman’s Award.
