John Marshall receives HRAI President’s Award
John Marshall has been presented with the HRAI President’s Award to honour his outstanding contributions to the HVAC industry, including his work with TSSA.
Marshall joined TSSA 14 years as director of its Fuels Safety Program. The program is focused on enforcing provincial safety regulations in Ontario’s fuels-related sectors, while considering the practical implications and impacts on businesses and individuals.
“Some years ago, TSSA identified the aging workforce and growing shortage of qualified tradespersons as one of the most pressing issues facing the heating industry and, when he learned that HRAI was actively addressing this challenge with its Industry Careers Promotion Committee, he quickly volunteered to participate,” said Martin Luymes, vice president, government and stakeholder relations, HRAI.
Marshall has also been an active supporter of HRAI’s involvement in the heating systems technician competition at annual Skills Ontario events. He is a two-time recipient of the Canadian Standards Association’s Award of Merit for his extensive contribution the development of codes and standards, as well as a 2020 CASE Service Recognition award winner.
After 50 years of experience in the fuels industry, Marshall recently announced his well-deserved retirement.
