From the sold-out show floor to busy aisles all three days, and a full seminar schedule, CMPX 2018 will go down in the books as one of the most successful in recent history.

Jointly produced by HRAI and CIPH, CMPX 2018 saw a 7.5 per cent jump in total visitors as the event hit the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) this past March.

Helping to keep the aisles humming with conversations was the larger-than-ever number of wholesalers who ran customer social activities and bus trips to this year’s show. Those visitors were treated to a display of new product offerings on the way into the show, and countless displays on the show floor.

This helped drive up the attendance of such key target groups of contractors as HVACR contractors (up 12.8%) and plumbing contractors (up 18.3%).

Closing out the show was the draw for a new GMC Savana with custom racking from Farmboro. Show chairman Dennis Kozina and HRAI president Warren Heeley selected the winning ballot at the end of the day on the Friday, making it an even better event for Mike Cliffe, a mechanic at Sensible Heating & Air Conditioning in Brampton, Ont. His new van is currently being outfitted and detailed, but he will be receiving the keys in the coming weeks.

The next edition of the show, CMPX 2020, will hit the MTCC from March 25 to 27, 2020.
